Le Jardin Academy is seeking a Lifeguard (Full-time). The Lifeguard maintains constant surveillance in the pool; acts immediately and appropriately to secure the safety of children in the event of emergency. Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services. Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification required, along with CPR/First Aid Certification. Open Water Lifeguard Certification preferred. Must be available Monday through Friday, 6:00am-2:00pm. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. No phone calls, please. Please submit a resume and cover letter. Hourly pay range: $17.00 to $20.00 per hour.

Job Scope

Essential Functions
Maintains constant surveillance of the pool; acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety.
Enforce all pool rules in a consistent manner.
Maintains clean environment for all users to include pool deck and changing rooms.
Respond quickly, intelligently, decisively and in accordance with established emergency and accident management procedures.
Responsible for maintenance and cleaning of the pool, which includes vacuuming and cleaning pool tiles.
Identify potential accident hazards.
Be alert or prevent accidents .

Participates in class lessons as needed.

Qualifications and Requirements
Education
Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification.
CPR/First Aide certification.
Open Water Lifeguard Certification preferred.
Experience
Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills
Skills
Skill in the application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques.
Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
Knowledge of CPR and emergency medical procedures.
Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
Ability to meet deadlines in an environment with multiple simultaneous projects.
Build strong relationships.
Work independently and frequently without direct supervision.
